Trying new mascaras is always so much fun for me. I do try not to get crazy with it and try to finish one before getting another but you all know how that goes, when you see one that you just have to try its hard not to. Recently I tried the new Covergirl Full Lash Bloom Mascara thanks to my friends at influenster and it has quickly become my go to everyday. If you follow me on instagram you will have seen that I have started my internship and therefore have very little time for me. I try to get the best makeup look I can in as little time as possible and I love how effortless this mascara is on my lashes. This is because of the new petal shaped brush and the moose formal that contains all natural beeswax that leaves my lashes coated but not stiff and brittle. I hate when I put on a mascara and it makes my lashes clumpy and I have to spend so much time combing through it just to make it look decent. Seems counterproductive if you ask me! I am so excited to have found a new favorite to add to my arsenal and with all covergirl products your getting such an awesome quality product that won’t break the bank! If any of you have tried this out or end up getting yourself one let me know how you like it!!! Talk to you all soon!

Hopes for the New Year!

2015

Hi everyone and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! Ahhhhh can you even believe that it is 2015, I sure can’t but I know that this year is going to be a rockin one! Since January 1st means a new year is ahead I would love to share some of my hopes for the new year. I don’t like to set resolutions because like many others I feel like I never stick to them! So instead these are some hopes and goals that I will be working toward this year or just enjoying more =)

1. I really want to connect with you all on a more regular basis! I love getting to you know guys and I love writing as well but with school this last year it has been a non stop whirlwind. So I am going to try to dedicate set time each week to connecting and getting my fingers typing to share with all of you!

2. I want to travel more (who doesn’t) but truly there are so many places that I have said that “oh I want to go there one day” and this year I want to travel to at least one new place. Its such a passion of mine seeing and exploring new places and learning that I really want to allow myself to enjoy it! YOLO haha

3. As much of a positive person as I try to be I do have my debbie downer days. So this year I want to replace my negative thoughts with positive ones. And I know that is easier said then done, so what I have done is taken my favorite quotes, sayings and encouraging messages and written down on little sticky notes. I fold them up and put it into my Jar of Positivity an whenever I need one I will reach in and pull out some positivity! Fun right!

4. Lastly I want to be more open to trying new things. Either with beauty, fashion and even food! I feel like a lot of us get into routines of what works or just are too worried about trying something different that we all become stuck (hello I’m guilty of it!). So this year my hope is to every month trying something new and spice up my year.

I hope you all enjoyed those and I would love to hear all of yours! I think we all can inspire and support one another so if you are trying anything new this year reach out and I would love to know! Talk to you all soon and again Happy 2015!!!!

Too Faced Candle Light Powder

Candlelight 1

Candlelight 2

I know that I am a little late to thing product but hey better late then never right! I love new products just as much as any other gal but I don’t know what it is about over hyped products that makes me just a little reluctant. I kind of like to test it out a couple times and listen to my friends and favorite bloggers before I commit. During the VIB even I decided to take the plunge and purchase the Too Faced Candle Light Powder and I am so glad that I did! I am not an expert in contouring and highlighting by any means but I do like a nice glow to my face when I am going out to a nice dinner or even just to make myself feel good. This powder is so amazing I am almost sad I didn’t get it sooner! It gives such a beautiful glow and vibrance to you skin that people will think that you either walk around with this natural glow or you had an awesome nap! Its not too sparkly which I really love since I’m not huge into shimmer on my face and its so creamy for a powder that it doesn’t look chalky when you apply it. I like to brush it on right on my cheek bones and under my eyes but sometimes I even will dust some onto my eyelids for a nice subtle glow. I am so glad that I just bit the bullet and got this! If any of you have it and have a fun way to use it let me know I would love to try! Or just share your favorite glow powders!

December Birchbox

December Birchbox

December Birchobx2

Hi everyone! I am so excited to share this months birchbox with you all! I am honestly so so excited about everything that I got! I was kind of nervous because I ended up missing the time frame to pick a sample for my box and by the time I saw it all of them were unavailable =(. When I did receive, it took me less then a second to rip open the box to see what treats I got, and can we talk about how awesome this months holiday box is! Anything gold I am usually a fan of (shocking right!) I can not wait to see what all of you got and hear what some of your favorites were. I am really looking forward to trying the plumping line from Davines. Talk to you all soon!

Laura Mercier Oil Free Primer

I am a big believer in make up primers. It wasn’t until a couple years ago but one I started I can not see myself not using one. They protect your skin from any makeup getting into your pores or even dry and oil from clogging them. I have also tried my fair share of them which now that I think of it maybe I will do a “my favorite primers” article! But any who I recently purchased this Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation Primer on a trip to Sephora just to switch things up and I am really loving it. I have heard such wonderful things about the Laura Mercier make up line and being a huge fan of her body care line I knew I just needed to try it. This primer is so light and creamy unlike others I have tried and what I truly love about it is that it doesn’t leave a silicon feeling to your skin. It is incredibly breathable and your make up goes over it like a dream, it also doesn’t flake off when applying your makeup (which I have also experienced). I ended up choosing the oil free version since I indeed tend to have oily skin and it really feels like since it is so breathable my skin doesn’t produce excess oil through the day. If you are interested in trying a primer I really would give this one a look at. Hope you all enjoy and I would love to hear some of your favorite primers!

New Additions

New Additions

Swatches

Hi everyone!

Hope everyone had a wonderful much needed long Labor Day weekend . On my many errands I had the urge to pick up a few new drug store goodies to try out. I was in need of some concealer, and as much as I love my go to I always like trying new ones and I have high hopes for this L’Oreal True Match concealing crayon. Although I do think that I should have gotten the lighter shade I really like the consistency and coverage of it thus far. I also picked up theses Colour Riche balms in Caring Coral and Tender Mauve. I know that summer is pretty much over but since I live in the sunshine state I think that I can get away with a subtle coral longer then the average. I currently have a couple of the colour riche balms already and they really are spectacular, they smell amazing, are very hydrating and they give me the sheer pop of color that I enjoy. The Visible Lift blush in shade Soft Peach is truly the product that blew my mind. It is the perfect shade for my skin tone that gives me a nice flush of color and makes my pores disappear! You can use your fingers are a stippling brush to apply and it blends in like a dream. I am so excited that I picked these beauties out and look forward to using them soon!

Vasanti Lip and Cheek Colour Pod

To me sunny weather means getting outside and enjoying the color that comes alive when the sun is out. So in order to spend more time enjoying it I try to adjust my make up routine to something simple that will leave me looking put together but with little effort.  A few weeks ago I was incredibly lucky enough to be chosen by Birchbox as part of the Birchbloggers team to try out a colour pod by Vasanti!

If you haven’t heard of these before then get ready to be dazzled because this is any make up lovers dream! A two in one product is exactly the product that will allow you get the color you are looking for and cut down on your primping time.  Vasanti Lip and Cheek Colour Pods are truly like nothing I have seen before, from the sleek easy to hold design to the product that is filled with everything your skins needs to look great and be protected. Your skin and lips are plumped and hydrated thanks to pomegranate sterols  and mango butter gives your skin plenty of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that will protect you from the suns harmful UV rays. With all of that good for you in one product just wait till you see all three colors that they come in. I picked the color Candle Light, which is a beautiful pinky coral color that is just perfect for spring and summer.

Lips

I first took a picture of me wearing the color on my lips and I really loved it! It gave my lips such a fun pop of subtle color that really lasted and kept my lips hydrated all day.

Cheeks

The next I tried to show off the color on my cheeks! I loved how fresh and bright the shade my my face, and what I also like is that you can build up the color to the pigmentation you are looking for which makes it great for day and night!

I know that this is going to be the perfect product to add to my easy make up routine and is a great item for when I travel this summer. Thank you again Birchbox for allowing me to try this amazing product!

Its a new month and I am excited for some new polish’s! Literally the first day of every month when I get my Julep Maven Box my nails and myself do a happy dance! This months theme is the Vivid Collection and let me just say vivd does these colors justice. Since its spring and with summer right around the corner we finally have the okay to wear our favorite bright colors and not be judged. I am loving my new colors and know that they will be perfect additions to my go to colors for the season.

The beautiful pink color in Caitlin was simply stunning, I loved how pigmented it is and you can build the color up with more coats or just leave it sheer with one coat. The fun orange polish named Mariska was defiantly a surprise to me. Some of you may know that I tend to stick to the same color pallet with my nail polishes so adding an orange to the mix was hesitant for me. However I really really love this color, I enjoy that even though it is orange and pigmented it still isn’t overwhelming and very pretty (this color also has a matte finish and just added a topcoat to add more shine).

Also how wonderful is this Peach Bellini Blush I got in my box. It gives you the perfect amount of color to your checks without being too much and would even be beautiful swept across the eyelids for an easy day look. Did I mention that it is also pore minimizing, who doesn’t love a little extra boost to our already beautiful complexions! Hope you all enjoy these as much I do and I can’t wait to see all of your favorite polishes for spring!
