November Birchox 2

November Birchbix 3

Its a new month which means a whole new month of samples! Its pretty much like christmas or your birthday when you finally receive your boxes! This month Birchboxs’ theme was giving (very thanksgiving) and every box was shipped in a Red box to raise awareness for AID research. When you snapped a picture for your instagram, which we all do! (no shame!!)  Birchbox would then donate a dollar to the foundation! I love “Giving” back especially around the holidays so I really respect and am proud of Birchbox for giving back in such a big way. Now to the samples, I wont’t go into crazy detail about them but if you have any questions on my trials feel free to ask! What I got was Perlier Revitalizing Body Butter  in almond (one of my favorite scents), Amika Nourishg Mask, Gilchrist & Soames Spa Therapy Body Wash, Justin’s Chocolate Almond Butter (one of my favorite go to snacks with apples), The Blam Cosmetics Cindy-Lou Manizer, and two little smiles of Red Flower Illuminating Rose Collagen Renewal Face Serum. I am super excited about this months products and hopefully I will find a new love from it!

OnJuice Juice Cleanse

OnJuice1

OnJuice2

OnJuice3

OnJuice4

OnJuice5

This past week I set out on my very first juice cleanse thanks to the wonderful people at Onjuice. Being a self proclaimed health nut I try to maintain a healthy balance when it comes to eating and exercise, so I was thrilled when they asked me to try out a juice cleanse. If you are unfamiliar with OnJuice they are a South Florida based company who has taken juicing to the next level of healthy. They have developed a technique of cold pressing their ingredients to optimize the nutrients and vitamins that go from the fruit and veggies into the juices. And as if they isn’t awesome enough a juice is only as good as the ingredients itself right? Well all of the fruits and veggies that OnJuice uses are fresh and locally grown so they know exactly how and what goes into making the freshest produce.

I tried the Traditional 3 day Cleanse by OnJuice and I think this was the perfect choice for my first run at a juice cleanse. It consisted of 6 juices a day(I had two sublimes a day) that are meant to restore your body to its optimal state. It restores your bodies pH and is meant to rid yourself of toxins that cause fatigue, headaches and unhealthy skin just to name a few. I began my cleanse on monday and lasted till wednesday and to be honest it wasn’t as crazy as everyone makes it out to be, it was tough at times but not undoable my any means.

Day 1 I was completely pumped and ready to start. I got through the day easy and was excited to finally be able to taste all of the juices that were chilling in my fridge. I did exercise that day which I think made day 2 a little harder for me because I did notice that I was hungrier then I was anticipating. So day 2 I  had my juices every three hours as stated and because I am in school I was busy all day which really helped to distract me. By day 3 I honestly really was hungry and it was kind of a struggle but this is where being mentally tough and focused really helped me. I didn’t want all of my hard work and detoxing to go to waste which really helped me to stay strong (which I did!).

Overall I am really glad I did this, even though I couldn’t have coffee I noticed that I really didn’t get any headaches due to the lack of caffeine. I didn’t feel sluggish like I often do thanks to my crazy school schedule and I felt overall rejuvenated (who doesn’t love that). I just wanted to thank everyone at OnJuice again for letting me try this cleanse and get my body back on track and back to that fine tuned machine I know it is. Since the cleanse I really have been even more careful and methodical (if thats even possible) about what I eat and what I use when I am cooking. If any of you are interested in OnJuice you can learn more about all of their cleanses online. Also if you have any question feel free to reach out and ask away!!

The Weekend!

The Forge

Dessert

Hi Everyone! Hope you all had the most amazing weekend. During this time of year popular restaurants in Miami get together and join up for Miami Spice and I take full advantage of trying new some restaurants for an amazing deal. All the restaurants involved provide a pre-selected menu for $40 and includes an appetizer, entree and a dessert; most have several choices for each category so you are able to pick something that you will be sure to enjoy. This weekend my beau and I decide on The Forge restaurant, a place that we have always wanted to try and have heard so many wonderful things about but just never seem to make it. Walking into the restaurant you feel as if you are transported from art deco Miami to a modern version of an  Alice in Wonderland royal palace. Every inch of the space has been thoughtfully placed and is just truly amazing and the food wasn’t less then perfection. You can take a look at Miami Spice menu for The Forge here, in addition to the Miami Spice menu we ordered a couple extras including the Jamaican Jerk Bacon and the Truffle Mac n Cheese Pot Pie! After we were finished we decided to swing by my favorite shop in the whole world Laduree (I really can’t resist and how cute are these boxes!) I am getting excited about all the fall decor coming out into stores and I can’t wait to start decorating!! I am thinking of trying some DIY fall decor, what are some of your favorites?!

As if those pictures weren’t enough to make your mouth water let me share with all of you my newest sweet tooth obsessions from The Crispery. My mom first introduced me to these when she included one in my Easter Basket (yes I still get easter baskets, no judging!) and since then I have been hooked. Now these are unlike any other rice cereal treat I have ever had and trust me I have done my due diligence. Not only are these HUGE but they are so incredibly delicious with all kinds of wonderful flavors like Pretzel Surprise and S’mores . My beau surprised me with these after a less then stellar week and I am really practicing self control by not eating them all. Check out all of the delicious flavors from The Crispery’s online store and although all of them are wonderful so far my favorite is the classic Plain and Sweet Rice treat =) Hope you all enjoy and haven’t developed a pool of water where you are sitting from your mouth watering! (I am totally guilty of it)

Hi everyone! I know it has been too long since I last posted so before I get into catching up with all of you I wanted to say how sorry I am! The last three weeks have been nuts with finals a quick vacation and the starting summer school ahhhh! But none the less I am so thrilled to be back and sharing with all of you. Today I wanted to share a few of my snap shots from my brief time in my home away from home new York City! Most of you may not know but I have a deep love with New York City, well more like an obsession if I am being honest. I love being able to walk out onto the bustling sidewalk and be able to go anywhere that day with endless possibilities and I mean hello the shopping is also unlike any other. Any who, I hope you all are enjoying the warm weather and what are some of your favorite vacation spots?

UniVoxBox from Influenster

DSC_1637

Every so often I am fortunate enough to get picked from the wonderful people at Influenster to receive one of their themed VoxBoxes. If you have never heard of them before then let me just fill you in on the wonderfulness that this company is!

Influenster is a company/community where everyday people can share their thoughts, opinions and even ask questions to the Influenster community on products, food, travel anything you can think of! When you think about it hasn’t there been a time where you weren’t sure about a product or even a restaurant and you wish you could know what others thought about it after trying it? I know I do on basically a daily basis and that is exactly what makes Influsentser so ingenious!

So when you are picked to receive a VoxBox they are filled with products that you would see in your local store but they are sent to you completely free and all you do is try it all and share your opinion with the Influenster community! This UniVoxBox was geared toward college students and products and items that makes our lives easier and products that help with our crazy and often hectic schedules! I have been using these fun products for about two weeks now and I have to say they are AWESOME!!!! From the fun lip color from NYC Cosmetics that give my lips a fun pop of color for spring (and I don’t have to keep reapplying) and the Blackberry Current Tea drops from Red Rose that I throw in my school bag and add to my water when I want some flavor its is all amazing (and being put to good use).

There will be more posts coming from me on the products in this box but I was so excited to share with all of you the fun stuff that I got and give you all a little insight into the Influenster community!

Nina Ricci for Laduree

Nina Ricci 1

As I am sure you can all tell by now but I have a true love/obsession with anything Laduree. I just find their macarons not only delicious, but to me they embody the elegance and sophistication of France. I am subscribed to all of their newsletters and I follow them on every social front that I can. A little while back I got the e-mail from their main store in France saying that they were presenting a collection of macarons in collaboration with the famed fashion designer Nina Ricci called La Tentation de Nina, I was doing my happy dance. The only problem was that it didn’t mention anything about getting them in the U.S. or when (cue the tears).

However if you saw my weekend post from last week then you may have seen that the Laduree in Miami had their windows beautifully decorated to showcase this collaboration! Though they didn’t have them yet I knew that it was just a mater of time and sure enough this past Friday was the day!!!! So like the amazing guy he is my main squeeze went and picked up a box of these artful GOLD LEAF macarons! I will be honest I almost cried because I was just so honored to be able to try these and my gosh they were wonderful!! They are a “raspberry, lemon, Bulgarion rose absolute and almond” macaron with a beautiful fuchsia shell! I know that these were a once in lifetime kind of treat and I am glad I could bring a little bit of my happiness to all of you.

Weekend Snapshots

Hi all! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We were blessed with such amazing weather this weekend, the humidity was low, the sun was out and there was the most amazing cool breeze. I found myself down at Lincoln Road Mall to get my Laduree fix, grab some lunch and just enjoy this beautiful weather. Also and a bonus decided to swing by Trader Joes since the only closest one is down in Miami.

DSC_1388

Though they didn’t have any of the Nina Ricci gold macrons that day I was lucky enough to get one of the boxes filled with all of my favorite flavors! ( and by favorite flavors I mean I got one of each!!!!!) Can I just add that I am always taken aback by how beautiful the Laduree windows always are and it doesn’t hurt that the Nina Ricci theme is hot pink!

NMS_1547

And of course I had to the Miami Beach Art Deco Box as well since I didn’t get it the last time!!!!

DSC_1413

If any of you have been to New York then I am sure you have heard of Serendipity, we are lucky enough to have one of our own and my beau and I stopped in for lunch ( my favorite tomato soup) and of course a classic Frozen Hot Chocolate for two!

They also added a Dylan’s Candy Bar and as you can imagine every sugary confection you could think of is housed in this candy land dream. I was so excited to able to have all of my favorite Dylan’s Candy Bar easier then ever now and I loved picking up a few of my favorites! I am so excited to have one so close but I know that when I go to New York I will feel like a kid in a candy store, there is truly nothing like the three story flagship store filled with candy!

Like I had mentioned I did treat myself and go to Trader Joe’s to stock up on some of my favorites. I know this may not be new to a lot of you who have been to Trader Joe’s but I just wanted to share with all of you a few of my favorites from the store!

NMS_1543

I can not wait to enjoy all of my goodies that I picked up this week and look forward to seeing some of things you enjoyed this weekend! Also since I am newish to Trader Joe’s I would love to hear what some of your favorite items are that are worth trying!!

Spring is in the Air

Since this week was the official beginning of spring I decided to take some time an enjoy the beautiful weather that we had here is South Florida. I know its practically summer here all year round but on the few days we get here where there is a cool breeze and the humidity is low we like to take full advantage of it.  This weekend I really enjoyed getting out and spending some time with my family as well as finding some spring inspiration for decor.

I thought these Easter/Spring inspired dinner wear was so fun and interesting way to welcome the new season, leave it to William Sonoma to make an egg look cute! Also how divine and yummy looking do these pastel chocolate eggs look!!! It took all that I had not to buy the whole basket.

Fair Day

Saturday I was so excited to be going to the Fair with my family! I honestly can’t even tell you all the last time I had been but I have the best memories of going every year as a kid. Though it was so much different then from what I remembered it was fun to indulge in some nostalgic fair food and seeing all the different kinds of animals oh and did I mention food! ( I am sure this weeks workouts will be kicked into over drive to make up for all of this! I mean hello look at those fries!)

IMG_8972

Sunday was much more relaxing thankfully and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky which was perfect for a day outside. As I am sure some of you know by now I really enjoy plants, flowers and anything that makes me smile that is found in nature. I just find it so remarkable that our earth can make such breath taking beauties for us to enjoy. Anyways, my mom has been redoing her garden for the spring so I took a ride with her to a nursery near the house to scope out some new additions and fell so in love. I loved all the different fountains and all the rooms like looked like secret gardens I had to take some pictures because it was just too beautiful.
